why dont muslims and jew rationaise the rules on things like food.?

why dont muslims and jew rationaise the rules on things like food and other stuff.

Ie a vail makes sense in a desert with sandstorms but not in Denmark.

Ok in oldern days before food hygene teaching, quality cookers and freezers came about you can understand why pork was not a good idea but now we can freeze and cook it properly.

etc

Actually, it’s been recently discovered that even in the highest temperatures, there still remains things that can make you sick in Pork. And I learned this from reading a warning in my supermarket here in Wisconsin, not from a propagandist site.

Well, tradition may be a factor. Sometimes we have rules just because they help us remember stuff or we feel it makes certain things more important.

Like birthday parties. There is no logical reason to celebrate a day out of the calendar for a person being born. Their true "birth" day was when they were born. But we like it, anyway.

pork is still not that healthy, but i believe in terms of kosher or halal food (sliting the throat of the animal) they don’t need that specifically anymore, because now a days all meat is cut up like that. The only difference is that the Jew and Muslims recite something holy while they slaughter the animal, while other practices don’t do that.

I think most people can rationalize whats okay and whats wrong for modern times, instead of following word for word what was written a long time ago.

If the rules are rationalised on rules like food and clothing, then what’s left for that religion.
Who should decide these new rules.
No, it’s a bad idea to change things like religion.

So…what’s the problem? You like Pork, you eat pork. You like shellfish, you eat shellfish, etc. Where the F does religion have anything to do with it, and why? I have NEVER been able to rationalise the limited mental capacity of anyone who says "I am not allowed to eat (insert name of product) because my religion tells me I cannot eat it".

Are there any religions which say I cannot use Heroin, or Marijuana, or sniff Cocaine? Why not?

When you have faith in god, whatever he tells you, you do without question. After all, he made us and he knows what is best for us, even if it doesnt make sense to use. Simply put, we do what it says in the book. And i am glad that things like alcohol and drugs are haram because i know how they can mess up people’s lives.

The kosher dietary regulations are perfectly sound and rational. Leading nutritionalists who are not jewish agree that a kosher diet is a healthy diet. With all the rubbish that is pumped into food these days, especially mass produced hormone enhanced pork, it might not be a bad idea for everyone to go kosher. You Danes are just bitter because bacon is one of your major exports….

Pork naturally has viruses in its meat. So for us to change something that God himself has imposed on us, it not possible. The things that we can eat are more than we cannot, it also depends how you look at it.

I know several people who got food poisoning from eating pork, even in these times just because you don’t get the effects straight away does not mean you won’t.
