Spiced Pork Chops Agrodolce

Here is a recipe that gives you an easy way to jazz up what could be a bland meal. With a recipe for Spiced Pork Chops Agrodolce as east as this, you’ll wonder why you didn’t try it sooner!

Spiced Pork Chops Agrodolce



4 (3/4in) pork chops (with bone) 3/4 thick

1Tbsp of olive oil

Salt and pepper


For sauce:

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

2 Tbsp of honey

1-2 Tbsp of fresh thyme (minced)

1/2 cup chicken broth

1-2 Tbsp of butter (unsalted)

*Works great with sauteed onions and peppers or side salad*



Cooking Instructions:

First season the pork chops with salt and pepper. Then you will heat your olive oil in a large sized frying pan over a medium-high heat. Now cook the pork chops for about 2 minutes per side, then put on a plate. Next reduce the heat to medium, and add your honey, balsamic vinegar, and minced thyme to the same pan you used for the pork chops. Cook liquid till reduced by half (for about 5 minutes). Now  stir in your chicken broth, and increase the heat to bring it to a simmer. Next return pork chops to pan and cover to cook for 2-3 minutes. Uncover, and turn pork chops, cook for additional 4-5 minutes. Transfer your pork chops to plate and cover them with aluminum foil. You will finish the sauce by setting heat to high, and simmering until the sauce is thick and syrupy.  Remove pan from the heat, stir in butter until it is smooth. Drizzle your sauce over pork chops. Serve with sauteed peppers and onions, or your favorite vegetables or salad if desired.
