Since humans are just a form of animal, aren’t we being cannibalistic when we eat the meat of other animals?
HEALTH CONCERNS ABOUT MEAT
What’s the beef with meat? This question can be answered in two nutritional words: fat and cholesterol.
Too much fat. No matter how you slice it, meat is high in fat. Unlike milk, in which you can separate out part or all of the fat, you can never get rid of all the fat in meat, no matter how well you trim it. Even the lean parts are laced with fat. Extra lean select-grade beef contains around seven percent fat.
Wrong fat. Not only is there too much fat in meat, it’s the wrong kind. Nearly half the fat in meat is the artery-clogging, saturated type. And, of course, meat is also high in cholesterol. Beef fat is more saturated than poultry fat because the bacteria in the ruminant stomach of cattle hydrogenate, or saturate, the fats in the plants that cows eat. It’s like having a fat factory inside the food source.
Fat without fiber. Unlike meat, plant foods that are low in fat and high in fiber tend to pass through the intestines rapidly, causing less upset and fewer problems, such as gastroesophageal reflux. Meat has a double fault. It’s high in fat and contains no fiber, so it takes longer to empty from the stomach and pass through the intestines. While most people do not experience "indigestion" from meat, those who suffer from reflux should not eat much meat, as it may aggravate the problem.
Problems with protein. Not only are the fats in meat unhealthy, meat proteins have also recently come under fire. Recent evidence suggests that animal proteins increase blood cholesterol levels, while plant proteins, especially soy, decrease them. Meats contain high levels of the amino acid L-lysine, which increases insulin production, prompting the liver to release fat and cholesterol into the bloodstream. If L-lysine is experimentally added to animal diets, blood cholesterol levels increase by over fifty percent and the animals get plump. Studies show that substituting 30 grams of soy protein daily for a meat meal dramatically reduces cholesterol levels. So, the Japanese may have lower cholesterol levels than Americans, not only because they eat less meat, but also because they eat more soy. The quality of meat protein ranks below that of egg white, fish, and dairy products.
You’re an animal. I’m a human being. There’s a difference. One has a guilty conscience, a sense of guilt, shame and self-awareness as well as the ability to reason and make an arguement driven by evidence and rationality, whereas the other doesn’t. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure this riddle out.
Do the things that bring about righteous results.
Religion is of two kinds: true and false.
Be nice. Be honest.

No we’re not. If you choose not to eat meat, don’t. There are ways to be healthy and eat meat. Just as there are ways not to eat meat and still be unhealthy.
Meat isn’t that bad for you. It also depends on how much of it you are eating. how it’s prepared, what kind it is. (and where the meat came from)

Cannibalism is eating your own species, therefore, it would only be considered cannibalism if you do not believe in speciation.

For one- no, cannibalism is eating other HUMANS, not other animals.
For another- I’m not a doctor or a nutritional expert, but my friends who do work in those fields say meat is an essential part of the diet.
Humans evolved with the capacity to eat meat- there is a reason for that.

To answer your question: No, cannibalism is when an animal eats that of the same species.
And okay, meat is fatty, join PETA if you are that much against it.

What does this have to do with religion?
No, it’s omnivorism.
That may be true still the human needs meat. Winter is a good time for eating meat. Fat helps you keep warm and their aren’t a lot of vegetables naturally available. Of course you can buy fruits out of season but then again if you buy them in a store they aren’t ripe anyway. Well, artificially which ensures that they aren’t as wholesome as they should be. Etc. etc.

Your arguement is invalid, humans are carnivores.
No were not being cannibalistic when eating another animals, whats that for stupid question? Humans are sentient and different from other animals, were a step above them in the chain of life. And today I saw a spider eat a fly and boy was I shocked I ran up to that spider and yelled "YOU FILTHY CANNIBAL!" before running away screaming in horror.
All your really trying to do is make us read your points that justify vegetarianism.

You have to lower humans to the level of cattle to make your point…you should graze in a pasture!

meat has increasingly become accepted as the "norm" in meals. People think eating meat is healthy. It is filling and it has benefits. I personally do not want to eat meat anymore. When I cook I generally stay away from preparing meat products because it disgusts me to touch a severed part of an animal. I would prefer to eat a vegetarian diet; however my parents prohibit me from doing this. I can have many health benefits from eating plant based food such as edamame and have the same texture by eating faux-meat.
However, fish is a valuable source of nutrients. Fish is a meat. There isn’t a convenient way to get the nutrients in fish from other foods.
Vegetarianism is simply an alternative diet, meat- eating can be considered cannibalism but by nature we are omnivores. It will not hurt us to defy this nature.

I am not anti vegetarian, but i think it is important to eat what your body needs. meat is only one form of nutrition and before fast food and supermarkets it was eaten every now and then. the reason was to replenish those fats and oils that you can only get from meat. Protein is important in muscle development. cholesterol and fats can help keep the body warm in winters and are slow to burn so you don’t feel hungry all the time. summer is a good time to increase your greens. eat fish and salads as your body does not need much time to use and expel these from your body. look at food for why we use them and you can enjoy all foods with out care. but if you only eat one type of food, you will come across trouble for sure.

Many written reports collected by the Australian War Crimes Section of the Tokyo tribunal (WW2), indicate that Japanese personnel in many parts of Asia and the Pacific committed acts of cannibalism against Allied prisoners of war.
According to historian Yuki Tanaka: "cannibalism was often a systematic activity conducted by whole squads and under the command of officers".This frequently involved murder for the purpose of securing bodies.
For example, an Indian POW, Havildar Changdi Ram, testified that: "[on November 12, 1944] the Kempeitai beheaded [an Allied] pilot. I saw this from behind a tree and watched some of the Japanese cut flesh from his arms, legs, hips, buttocks and carry it off to their quarters… They cut it small pieces and fried it."
Indian POW, Lance Naik Hatam Ali, testified that in New Guinea: "the Japanese started selecting prisoners and every day one prisoner was taken out and killed and eaten by the soldiers. I personally saw this happen and about 100 prisoners were eaten at this place by the Japanese. The remainder of us were taken to another spot 50 miles [80 km] away where 10 prisoners died of sickness. At this place, the Japanese again started selecting prisoners to eat. Those selected were taken to a hut where their flesh was cut from their bodies while they were alive and they were thrown into a ditch where they later died."

the reason most people are vegetarians in america, regardless of their espoused beliefs or rationale, is because they are physically ill. specifically, they have a condition called achlorhydria, an insufficiency of hydrochloric acid production in the stomach, which makes them unable to break down and digest meat proteins, especially red meat. this condition also makes them prone to a number of other health problems, especially osteoporosis, as their hcl production is inadequate to bind with (chelate) minerals such as calcium, which is essential to their absorption. japanese do have fewer heart attacks, but they have more strokes from weak blood vessels from lower cholesterol. red meat is one of the few sources of the essential amino acid methionine. many soy products have thyro- toxic compounds.

Oh no!!! since animals and plants are both eukaryotic organisms, isn’t it cannibalistic to eat vegetables?
You know absolutely nothing about physiology.
Meat is high in fat. It’s not a bad thing. There are no "right" or "wrong" kinds of fats contrary to popular belief. Only the speed at which they are digested and metabolised has a bearing on whether they will form atherosclerotic plaques, or be metabolised by the liver. Slowing down your digestion by eating your meat as part of a balanced diet including complex carbohydrates in the same meal reduces the size of the lipoprotein chylomicrons in the bloodstream immediately following digestion. All of the blood from the digestive tract passes through the hepatic portal vein into the liver to be filtered and processed. The size of the chylomicrons plays an important role here. The smaller ones (HDLs) pass easily through the fenestrae in the liver capillaries and are quickly metabolised, larger ones (LDLs) don’t fit through the gaps, so they continue to ride through your bloodstream and clog onto the walls of damaged arteries. Cholesterol is made by your liver in response to having fatty blood because cholesterol makes fats more liquid and reverses the sclerotic buildup.
Gastroesophageal reflux has nothing to do with how fast food passes through the intestines.
Meat proteins contain 4 essential amino acids that are absent from plants (except soy.) Soy has its own very special problems. It’s choc full of phytoestrogens that can increase the risk of breast cancer and developmental problems in men and women. You also cannot guarantee that the soy you are eating hasn’t been genetically modified to the roundup ready monsanto variety. Improperly stored soy beans produce an enzyme that blocks the protease enzymes in our digestive tracts. So you don’t get the benefit of eating the protein from these products because you can’t digest it.
Insulin production doesn’t involve the release of fat from the liver. It prompts the liver to release glucose from its glycogen stores.
The Japanese have the highest incidence of stomach cancer in the world.
The quality of a protein source indicates the relative abundance of essential amino acids. In that respect, you would expect eggs and dairy to be almost perfect due to their intended use as the only source of nutrition for a growing organism.
I will allow that western societies do eat too much meat. The health benefits that many vegetarians claim are also obtainable by simply eating a more balanced diet including not more than 100gms of lean meat per day. Lean red meat is also the easiest and most cost-effective way of maintaining iron levels.
