I’m thinking of breaking veg…Advice?

I’ve been vegetarian for over the past two and a half years. I started out very convinced that it was the right thing to do, and I still think that vegetarianism is a very noble practice. I just don’t believe in it as strongly as I used to, so I’ve decided to go back to eating meat. I definitely won’t be eating as much meat as I used to –probably just when my family cooks quality meat, or for holiday meals– but I hope you understand my reasoning and respect my decision.

That being said, do you have any warnings or advice for when I begin to eat meat again? I’m sure I’ll need to go through a slow adjustment, to get used to consuming animal products again, but I appreciate any input you can give me.

Im so proud of you! You finally came to your senses and realized being a vegetarian is WRONG! Remember you don’t have to eat meat all the time. Start out slow and work it back into your diet. go at your own pace until you find your comfort zone where meat is in your diet. Once again Im proud of you and eat plenty of meat during this BBQ Season!

Why would you ask that question here? ask it in health. No one in V&V is going to tell you how to eat meat.

You’ve kept it for quite some time, so I don’t think you should start to eat meat again, but it is your decision, and I respect it. My mom has been vegetarian for 30 years and me, 4 years. My mom asked he doctor what would happen if either of us started to eat meat again. He said my mom could end up getting sick, very likely. But me, since it wasn’t to long, he said I might feel squeamish and my stomach might be a little upset. He told me if I did start to eat meat(which I am not going 2), I should do it slowly, better safe than sorry. So I advise just starting eating it slowly, and slowly transition it into your meals. Good luck!

just do what you want, eat what you want when you want. if you feel like eating meat then eat it if you don’t don’t…
your views are your own i respect that, im a vegetarian myself but if you don’t believe theirs a reason to be then its your choice.
    be happy

my mate’s mum started eating chicken every now and again cos she thought she needed more protein (absolute rubbish!!) and it made her really sick, bad stomach upsets, and that was just from a little bit! your body stops producing the enzyme that breaks down meat i heard when u stop eating it. (even though meat is hard to digest anyway-u may not ‘feel’ that it is,but its true)
sorry i dont know how u can adjust but thought u might need a bit of caution as ur likely to get a few problems.
