This is a meal that is easy to prepare and can cook while you are at work. This meal makes 6 servings but could feed more if you serve on rice or with mashed potatoes etc.
Slow Cooked Dinners – Crock Pot Chuck Roast
While slow cooking isn’t for everyone, if you can take the time to prepare and have a slow cooker, it can be a great way to cook healthy meals without having to stand over a hot stove. Here is one of our favorites, crock pot slow cooked pot roast.
Preparation Time: Fifteen Minutes
Cooking Time: Five Hours
Total Time: Five Hours and Fifteen Minutes
Chuck Roast – Three pounds, watch the video below for additional information
Large Onion – One
Potatoes – Two pounds of small red potatoes
Carrots – Five large carrots
Vegetable Oil – Two Tablespoons
Celery – Two pieces
Worcestershire Sauce – Two Tablespoons
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions for preparation and cooking:
- Slice your onion and place it in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Time permitting, brown your roast first using the two tablespoons of vegetable oil. If not, simply place on top of the onions.
- Then if you are able cook for about 3 hours and then add your potatoes and carrots. If not, simply at them prior to starting the cooking process.
- Make sure and cover your roast with water.
