Is a BEEF RIB ROAST (BONE IN) prime rib?

and how would I cook it?

YES. There is a really good recipe on www.foodtv.com. It is a little unconvential being that you cook the roast at very high heat for a time then turn off the oven and let it sit (not opening the oven), then reheat the oven to finish cooking. I did this last year for Christmas and the roast was excellent. They may still have the video I saw.

I found the recipe: Foolproof Standing Rib Roast by Paula Deen

I need advice on changing my senior dog’s diet, help?

I plan to switch my Setter to Innova EVO Reduced Fat for seniors dog. She is not overweight but a couple pounds less would be ideal. She will be 8 in September.

I was feeding her Californa Natural and always suplemened it with 1/4 lean cooked meat and vitamins.

This Evo dog food has 52.0% protein whereas California Natural only has 21% protein. So adding more meat with Evo would not be wise, right? Also should I drop the vitamin supplements? Would she be getting too many vitamins with EVO?

Any ideas what I can mix with the kibble to keep my dog happy and not screw up the nutritional balance of this high quality food?

I would quit giving her the meat (or at least really reduce the amounts) when you switch her to the EVO. I would also drop the vitamin supplement (unless it is a glucosimine/chondroitan supplement).

I would just switch her very slowly (over at least 2 weeks) and give her just small amounts of the meat with the EVO. You can also try soaking the dry EVO with a little bit of hot water or broth (salt free or low sodium) until it becomes mushy.

Where can I find a corned beef roast (not brisket)?

At the Memorial golf tournament in Dublin Ohio – at the VIP pavillion on Saturday they prepare roast corned beef which is similar to prime rib. I’d like to do one for Thanksgiving instead of turkey.

one of us is confused ,corned beef is a cured brisket.and I cant think of a way that you could cook it and make it come out like prime rib.
Ive been cooking both corned beef brisket and brisket for years ,so im pretty sure I know what I’m talking about.
depending on the store you buy your meat at.you will usually find the briskets and the corned beef together.
At my super market the have what is called a whole brisket. It is fat on one end and gets smaller at the other, the small flat end is what is popularly used to cure into corned beef, sometimes you can find the other end cured also.
anyway the large end is usually roasted as is or barbecued.
I roast a whole brisket at times with really good results,Its tender and juicy.
of course there is always the possibility that it is a specialty cut of meat that someone corned (cured) but it wouldn’t look anything like a prime rib, its flesh would be pink like ham.
So maybe you could call whoever did the dinner and ask.
wish I could be of more help.
peace ><>

Look who I meet!

Oh, fancy seein’ you here!
What are you doin’ at the Teet?
Ooooh I’m just here gettin’ a gallon of milk

So I go to get my milk
What do you say, cuz there’s no other way!

I wonder if there’s any USDA Prime Beef on sale today
Lemme go see

Take a look, in the nook
If there’s any beef on sale today

So did ya get that gallon of milk you were looking for?
Oh yeah, and I got so much more!

I got hot pockets, chocolate chip cookies, reynolds wrap and a sack of cat food

Well I think it’s time for to break it down now
